Removing P2P Programs

Mac OS X

1. Click on Finder on the Dock

2. Click on Applications on the left side bar

3. Find Vuze among the applications

4. Drag the Vuze application to the trash & empty the trash

Windows

1. Click Start

2. Click on Control Panel

3. Uninstall Vuze

4. Uninstall Vuze Remote Toolbar

Windows

1.  Click Start

2. Click on Control Panel

3. Uninstall BitComet

1. Click Start

 

2. Click on Control Panel

 

3. Uninstall AVG Secure Search

 

4. Uninstall both tool bars

 

5. Uninstall BitLord – Packages

1. Click on the Finder on the Dock

3. Find the BitTorrent among the applications

 

4. Drag the BitTorrent applcation to the trash & empty the trash

3. Uninstall BitTorrent

 

4. Remove settings & clock OK

Ubuntu

1.  Click the Unity button in the top left corner of the desktop, then type terminal.

 

 

 

2.  To remove Frostwire, type sudo apt-get remove frostwire in the terminal.

3. You will most likely be asked for a password. This should be the one you use to log into your computer when turning it on.

4.  You will also be asked if you are sure you want to uninstall frostwire, just type Y and hit enter.

Mac

1. Click on the Finder Icon from the Dock

 

2. Click on Applications on the left side

 

3. Find Transmission from the list of applications

 

4. Drag Transmission from Applications to Trash and empty the trash.

Ubuntu

1.  Click the Unity button in the top left corner of the desktop, then type terminal.

 

2.  To remove Transmission, type sudo apt-get remove transmission-gtk in the terminal.

3. You will most likely be asked for a password. This should be the one you use to log into your computer when turning it on.

4.  You will also be asked if you are sure you want to uninstall Transmission, just type Y and hit enter.

5. Repeat this process again with transmission-common.

Windows

1. Click Start

 

2. Click on Control Panel

 

3. Uinstall µTorrent

 

4. Remove settings

 

Mac OS X

1. Click on Finder in the Dock

 

2. Click on Applications on the left side

3. Find µTorrent among the applications

4. Drag µTorrent to Trash and empty trash.

World of Tanks Launcher

Step 1

Open the World of Tanks Launcher

Step 2

Open settings by clicking on the wrench in the top right corner of the launcher.

 

Step 3

Ensure that the “Allow torrents” check box is unchecked and press okay.

Please Note: It may or may not be necessary to disable peer-to-peer functionality on both the Blizzard Downloader (or Updater) as well as the World of Warcraft client.

Blizzard Downloader

Step 1

Open the Blizzard Downloader.

Step 2

Click “View” and select “Preferences”

Step 4

Uncheck “Enable Peer-to-Peer Transfer”

The Blizzard Downloader should now say, “Peer-to-peer sharing is disabled”

Pando Media Booster

Step 1

Open the League of Legends Launcher.

Step 2

Select “Options” (the image of gears in the upper-right corner).

Step 3

Uncheck “Allow Peer to Peer Transfer”.

Step 4

Select “Save”.

You can also uninstall Pando Media Booster.

Relic Downloader

Step 1

Start Relic Downloader (located in your Company of Heroes folder under \RelicDownloader\RelicDownloader.exe)

Step 2

Right-click the Relic Downloader system icon and uncheck “Enable peer-to-peer”.
OR
Move/rename the “RelicDownloader.exe” file so that it does not start with Company of Heroes.

Turn off auto-updates for steam games that won’t be used at the LAN:

Step 1

Open up Steam and navigate to the Library page.

Step 2

Right-click on a game and select “Properties”.

Step 3

Select the “Updates” tab.

Step 4

Set “Automatic updates” to “Do not automatically update this game”.

Turn off auto-updates for everything:

Step 1

Open Origin.

Step 2

Select “Origin”

Step 3

Click on “Application Settings”.

Step 4

In the Settings General page, scroll down and uncheck “Automatically keep my games up to date”.

Before you start

For you to disable P2P on Starcraft II on Mac OS X you must go to Finder > Applications > StarCraft II. From that folder, follow these steps:

Click on the StartCraft II icon

Step 2

Click on the Options button on the upper left-hand side

Step 3

From the Options drop-down menu click on Downloader Preferences

Step 4

In the Downloader Preferences window uncheck Enable P2P Transfer

Step 5

Click OK

Uncheck Enable Peer-to-Peer Transfer and click on OK.
